Basements exist in the Triangle, unlike Miami and much of Phoenix. Newer and hillside Wake County builds put living space below grade. When a sump quits, a foundation wall weeps, or a supply line fails, that space holds water against framing, carpet, and stored contents.
We extract standing water from the basement slab, class the water, and meter the bottom of the walls. Finished basements hide water behind baseboards and under carpet pad the same way an upstairs room does. Unfinished basements still need the sill and any framed walls checked.

Piedmont clay drains slowly. If the same corner floods every heavy rain, look at the downspout discharge and the backfill grade before you blame only the sump. The pump cannot outrun a yard that pitches toward the wall.
